About Z Visa

What is a China Work Visa?

The China Work Visa (Z Visa) is the only visa that permits foreign nationals to legally work in China. It is issued to individuals who have secured employment with a Chinese employer and obtained a Foreigner Work Permit.

The Z visa is a single-entry visa. After entering China, you must apply for a Residence Permit within 30 days, which serves as your long-term authorization to live and work in China.

Important: Working in China on any visa other than a Z visa (or valid Residence Permit) is illegal and can result in fines, detention, and deportation.
